At which Paris square does the main Bastille Day parade route end?

The story behind the answer

The main Bastille Day parade route ends at Place de la Concorde.

France’s 14 July military parade travels down the Champs-Élysées from the Arc de Triomphe and finishes at Place de la Concorde. The square serves as the ceremonial viewing area, where the president, government officials, foreign ambassadors, and other guests watch the parade’s conclusion.

Place de la Concorde is Paris’s largest square and lies at the southeastern end of the Champs-Élysées, between the Tuileries Garden and the beginning of the Rue Royale. Its central Egyptian obelisk and broad open layout make it suitable for large public ceremonies. The parade’s official platform is positioned there rather than at the endpoint of a route through another major Paris square.

Place de la Nation and Place des Vosges are elsewhere in Paris and are not the normal destination of the modern parade. Place Vendôme, known for its column and luxury shops, is also separate from the route. Route changes have occurred in exceptional years, but the standard Champs-Élysées parade ends at Place de la Concorde.
