At which course did Tiger Woods win the 2000 U.S. Open?

The story behind the answer

At which course did Tiger Woods win the 2000 U.S. Open? He won at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

The championship was played from June 15–18, 2000, at Pebble Beach in California. Woods shot 272, finishing 12 under par and winning his first U.S. Open title. His 15-stroke margin over Ernie Els and Miguel Ángel Jiménez remains the largest victory margin in any major championship.

The 2000 event was the 100th U.S. Open and marked Jack Nicklaus’s final appearance in the tournament. Woods led from the opening round, when he shot a 65, and finished with a bogey-free 67. His performance was especially remarkable because the coastal course featured difficult rough, wind, and challenging poa annua greens.

A common mix-up is Torrey Pines, where Woods won the 2008 U.S. Open. Bethpage Black hosted his 2002 U.S. Open victory, while Oakmont hosted his 2007 U.S. Open win.
