At which 45 BC battle did Caesar defeat Pompey's sons in Hispania?

At the 45 BC Battle of Munda, Caesar defeated the forces of Pompey’s sons in Hispania.

Fought on 17 March 45 BC in southern Hispania Ulterior, Munda was the final major battle of Caesar’s Civil War. The opposing army was commanded by Gnaeus Pompeius and Sextus Pompeius, the sons of Pompey the Great, with support from Titus Labienus and other Republican leaders. Caesar’s victory destroyed the last large army capable of challenging his control.

The battle was exceptionally hard fought. Caesar’s veteran legions struggled against a larger Pompeian force, and Caesar reportedly said that at Munda he had fought for his life rather than merely for victory. A decisive cavalry maneuver and pressure from Caesar’s Tenth Legion helped break the Pompeian line.

Munda is often confused with Thapsus, which occurred in North Africa the previous year against Metellus Scipio and Juba I. After Munda, Gnaeus Pompeius escaped but was later captured and killed, while Sextus Pompeius survived for several years. Caesar returned to Rome as the dominant figure in the Republic, but was assassinated in 44 BC.
