Taylor Swift performed “august” with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021.
The performance was part of a Folklore medley presented in a woodland cottage setting. Swift began with “cardigan,” performed “august” on guitar, and finished with “willow.” Antonoff and Dessner accompanied her, making the appearance a prominent live presentation of the album’s interconnected world.
The Grammy performance is sometimes remembered simply as a performance of “cardigan,” because that song opened the sequence. However, all three songs were included. It was also notable because Swift, Antonoff, and Dessner performed together publicly in that arrangement for the first time. “august” later became part of the Folklore section of Swift’s Eras Tour set list.
