At what lunar location did the Apollo 11 mission land in 1969?

The story behind the answer

Apollo 11 landed at Tranquility Base on the Moon in 1969.

The Apollo 11 lunar module Eagle touched down on July 20, 1969, in the southwestern part of Mare Tranquillitatis, known in English as the Sea of Tranquility. Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin descended to the surface while Michael Collins remained in lunar orbit in the command module Columbia.

Armstrong named the landing site Tranquility Base during a radio transmission after touchdown. The mission marked the first time humans had landed on the Moon, and Armstrong became the first person to walk on its surface several hours later.

The site name is not the same as the lunar sea’s name. Mare Tranquillitatis is the broad geographic region; Tranquility Base is the specific Apollo 11 landing site within it. The mission returned safely to Earth on July 24, 1969.
