Apex Legends is set in the same universe as which Respawn series?

Apex Legends is set in the same universe as Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall series.

The connection is more than a shared developer. Apex Legends takes place in the Frontier, the same science-fiction setting established by Titanfall, and includes characters, organizations, locations, and historical references from those games. Several Apex Legends figures also have direct links to Titanfall’s events and cast.

The first Titanfall launched in 2014, followed by Titanfall 2 in 2016. Apex Legends arrived in 2019 as a free-to-play battle-royale spin-off. Respawn shifted the focus from playable Titans and Pilots to squads of Legends with distinct abilities, but retained the broader world and lore.

A common misconception is that Apex Legends is simply Titanfall 3. It is not a numbered sequel: it is a separate multiplayer game set in the same universe.
