Against which club did Messi score his first La Liga hat-trick?

The story behind the answer

Messi scored his first La Liga hat-trick against Real Madrid. He achieved it for Barcelona in a thrilling 3–3 El Clásico at Camp Nou on 10 March 2007.

At just 19 years old, Messi scored Barcelona's first two goals and then completed his hat-trick deep into stoppage time, rescuing a draw after Real Madrid had taken the lead three times. His third goal sparked one of the defining celebrations of his early career and announced him as a major figure in the rivalry.

The match was especially significant because it was Messi's first senior hat-trick for Barcelona and his first in La Liga. Real Madrid's Ruud van Nistelrooy also scored three times for Madrid, making the game one of the rare Clásicos in which both teams had a hat-trick scorer.

Fans sometimes confuse this achievement with Messi's later, more frequent La Liga hat-tricks against clubs such as Valencia, Sevilla or Atlético Madrid. Those came much later; Real Madrid was the opponent for his first league treble.
