“Rein Me In” peaked at number one in its 35th week on the UK chart. Its long climb made the duet one of the UK Singles Chart’s defining slow-burn successes of the 2020s.
The track first entered the UK chart at number 86 before jumping to number six the following week. Rather than disappearing after its early rise, it stayed in the public conversation and continued collecting streams and sales. On 26 February 2026, it finally reached the summit, giving Fender his first UK number-one single and Dean her second.
The figure can cause confusion because chart records may describe the achievement using different counting conventions, including the number of chart weeks elapsed or the numbered week of the run. Contemporary reporting and the song’s Wikipedia entry describe the climb as reaching number one in its 35th week. It also broke the previous record for the longest consecutive Top 40 run before reaching number one, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”
