According to Greek mythology, who was Pandora’s daughter with Epimetheus?

The story behind the answer

According to Greek mythology, Pandora’s daughter with Epimetheus was Pyrrha.

Pyrrha appears in later Greek genealogical traditions as the daughter of Pandora and Epimetheus. She becomes especially important in the flood myth, where she is the wife of Deucalion. Zeus’s flood destroys much of humanity, but Deucalion and Pyrrha survive and help repopulate the earth after the waters recede.

Their story is separate from the opening of Pandora’s jar, although later mythographers connect the family lines. Deucalion is often described as a son of Prometheus, making Pyrrha and Deucalion a couple whose parentage links the two Titan brothers Prometheus and Epimetheus.

Pyrrha is sometimes confused with Helen or Medea because all three are prominent women in Greek myth, but they belong to different stories. Pyrrha’s defining mythological role is as Deucalion’s partner in the renewal of humankind after the flood.
