According to Genesis, Noah’s first recorded action after the floodwaters dried was removing the covering of the Ark. Genesis 8:13 says that, in Noah’s six-hundred-and-first year, he removed the covering and saw that the ground was dry.

This scene comes before the command to leave the Ark. Genesis then records God telling Noah to bring out every living creature, allowing the animals to reproduce and spread across the earth.
