Who portrays the protagonist Wade Watts in the film "Ready Player One"?

Tye Sheridan portrays protagonist Wade Watts in the film "Ready Player One." Sheridan plays both Wade in the real world and his OASIS avatar, Parzival.

The 2018 science-fiction adventure film was directed by Steven Spielberg and adapted from Ernest Cline's 2011 novel. Wade is an orphan living in a poor community of stacked trailers in Columbus, Ohio, in the year 2045. He spends much of his time inside the OASIS, a vast virtual-reality universe.

After the death of OASIS creator James Halliday, Wade joins a global hunt for a hidden Easter egg. The winner will inherit Halliday's fortune and control of the OASIS. His avatar name, Parzival, refers to the Arthurian knight Percival.

A common mix-up is confusing Wade with his closest allies: Olivia Cooke plays Samantha Cook, whose avatar is Art3mis, while Lena Waithe plays Helen Harris, known in the OASIS as Aech. Sheridan was confirmed for the role in 2016 after an extensive casting search.
